bollocks, my friend! All true and accurate. The modern intelligentsia operate on Nietzschean and Sartrean principles.I stumbled upon a wonderful survey of existentialism and it really suumed it up well.

The basis for all of these “modern” humanist concepts rests on a very rickety foundation.

    Viva Aristotle & Aquinas!

    Yeah Right.

So some Filmmaker friends of Mr Polanski sign a petition for mercy to be shown to a friend, and this is the apocalypse? Get over it.

Don’t get me wrong, He admitted his guilt, there is no doubt of it, and then he skipped bail. Credit to the Americans for not giving up. He should suffer the due process of the law and his artistic status and fame require this is seen to be done.

But some friends look to defend a friend with a petition, and you see the end of the Greco-roman-Christian philosophical model??? Come on.

The I-am-sure depraved antics of many in Hollywood are a poor imitation of, say, The Borgias, The Colosseum, The Symposium (Originally greek drinking parties), or a thousand other moments in our history.

Surely the key point is, that despite those who will always defend Polanski and his like, the populous as a whole, and the authorities in particular, don’t. (Except the French of course)
